Women's Services

Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage is accredited as the State's first Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, and is the only center in Anchorage with this accreditation. We provide many imaging services specific to women, including:

• Screening and diagnostic mammogram
• Mobile mammography
• Ductogram
• Cyst aspiration
• Stereotactic, ultrasound, and MRI-guided breast biopsy 
• Breast ultrasound
• Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
• Pelvic ultrasound
• Hysterosonogram
• Hysterosalpingogram
• Bone density study (DXA)

Similar to several outpatient imaging centers in the Lower 48, many of Providence Imaging Center's diagnostic and screening imaging exams for women are centered around a women's lounge. Robes are provided in addition to gowns or capes for women whose exams require them to partially disrobe. Ask a technologist for a heated blanket or robe to take the chill off.

Five board-certified radiologists - three female - provide on-site coverage for Providence Imaging Center on a rotating basis. All five are highly skilled in women's imaging.
