Providence Imaging Center is please to announce the addition of a new GE 64 slice VCT Cat Scan (also known as CT scan).  This machine will replace the current 16 slice technology, and should be ready by the end of April 2009. During the brief period that the installation takes place, we will continue to provide CT services uninterrupted on our second CT unit.

CT is an abbreviation for computed tomography, which is a valuable diagnostic medical exam that combines X-rays and computers.  Often called CAT scans, CT scans have been performed successfully for almost 30 years.  A CT scan gives the radiologist a non-surgical way to see inside your body. One advantage of CT is its ability to rapidly acquire two dimensional pictures of your anatomy.  Using a computer, these 2-D images can be presented as 3-D images for in-depth clinical evaluations.

A LightSpeed VCT exam is an excellent tool for helping your doctor get the specific information needed to make a well-informed, accurate diagnosis and provide you with quality care.
